OUR MISSION

Cereal City Hoopsters strives to provide opportunities for personal growth and the development of student athletes while also reinforcing positive influences, self-confidence, self-esteem and the ability to excel on and off the court.

Through participation, Cereal City Hoopsters is dedicated to educate and motivate each athlete, while encouraging TEAMWORK, SPORTSMANSHIP, SKILL DEVELOPMENT, and FUN through the spirit of competitive athletics, including but not limited to basketball, baseball, tennis, soccer and golf.

Ways to Participate

Our summer program venue is Dr. Claude Evans Park in Battle Creek. Dr. Claude Evans was Battle Creek’s first black dentist, starting his 46 year practice in 1917, and he was committed to the enrichment of Battle Creek’s youth. The park features four regulation-style basketball courts and California-style baskets, Fred Jones softball field, volleyball courts, a splash pad, playground and many more outdoor, family-centered amenities.

To participate in our summer program go to bcparks.org. Experienced coaches teach fundamentals, and specific skills utilizing a variety of drills and game play throughout an eight week program. Lunch is provided Monday – Friday 12:00PM – 12:45PM.  

We host tryouts for our winter/spring basketball program at Battle Creek Central High School Field House and practice at BCCHS Field House and Full Blast Recreation Center for a total of four competition basketball courts. Our athletes routinely compete locally and around the state of Michigan. Our teams have competed in Indiana, Las Vegas, Kentucky, Ohio, North Carolina, Japan and wherever an invitational takes us. Because our season never interferes with a player’s school season, athletes are able to hone their sportsmanship and playing skills throughout the year.
